How I Balance Being a Mother, a Wife and a Triple Business Owner

Well lets start this off with there is no perfect balance to life.  But what I do want to talk about is how I juggle being a Mother, a Wife and a Triple Business Owner.  You can get to a place where you feel like you are successful in all area weather its "Balanced" or not.  Because really what does balanced look like?

Balanced [bal-uh nst] adjective
1.being in harmonious or proper arrangement or adjustment, proportion, etc.

Let face it guys, there is no harmonious or proper arrangement to a life of a wife, mother or entrepreneur.  Even in a person who isn't those three things; there is no harmonious or proper arrangement.  God created us all to be unique so how can we define what proper is when no two of us are alike.

I think everyday.... wow how did I get through the day before with all the things that I did?  I sometimes can't remember how I got from A to B because I have so much going on and so much on my mind every second of the day.  So my biggest tip to "Balance" or "The Juggle" is to start each day with a reflection of the day before and figure out what worked and what didn't.  Then come up with a list of 3 top priority things to get done that you must get done, weather they are personal or business related.  You know yourself better than anyone else so you know what will distract you and what will motivate you.  And if you don't know than Its important to find those things.

For me I know that if I work from home I will get distracted.  Can I get things done working from home?  Yes.  But will I get through more if I am at the office?  Yes.  Also when I work from the office I give myself a rule to complete my 3 things before I leave from there, that way when I leave from there my work for the day is done and whatever is done after I pick up the kids from school is a family related task without feeling like I am putting work off.  I don't work a 9-5 job but it is just as important to give myself a scheduled work time so I can be a mother and a wife outside of those work times.  If you don't have an office lets make that a future goal for yourself.  But, in the meantime you can still schedule yourself work hours while the kids are in school, or napping, or outside for their playtime.  That way you can focus on that work during those work hours and be present as a mother/father and a wife/husband.  This is my biggest advice for anyone who is starting their own business or is already and entrepreneur.

The most important tip is to give yourself REST.  I was terrible at this and still have room for improvement.  But, honestly if I don't give myself a break each day or a few days break every few months than I can find myself getting burnt out.  Just remember to notify your clients ahead of time that you are going to be MIA for a few days and advise them to ask questions before or after.  Get out with you hubby, friends, mom, siblings, kids... whatever your life looks like your break should be away from your day to day things.  Even if that break is getting away from the kiddos.  Remind yourself who you are as an individual and get a boost of inspiration and creative juices flowing so you can be even better at your job when you get back.

I would love to see some comments about tips you may have or questions about the ones I've given.  Just remember you got this!
